These are neat. Style looks like a cross between Chas. Addams and Virgil Partch ('VIP')

I've got lots of VIP to show, just go to the search at the upper left and type in VIP. I'll be showing cartoons from his book HERE WE GO AGAIN (1951) very soon.

Cobean's drawing looks more gag cartoony, less like a New Yorker cartoonist of the time. At least it does to me. But he wouldn't have been in that sophisticated magazine unless his gags matched the standards set by the other artists like Addams, Arno, etc.
